Google investit dans la reconnaissance d’images
On savait déjà que Google s’entraînait à la reconnaissance d’images en utilisant les photos que nous plaçons dans nos contacts Gmail, mais voilà qu’un pas est fait avec l’acquisition de Neven Vision, une compagnie spécialisée dans la reconnaissance d’images (via Google Operating System).
This technology will be used by Google to improve Picasa, by detecting and recognizing obects and persons in the picture. But the biggest challenge would be to integrate this into their image search engine and to create a mobile version for local search that will allow you to upload pictures and get information about the place / objects in the picture.
J’ose même pas imaginer ce que ça pourrait donner…
